Issue My issue is kids in school suffering from anxiety and depression. I want to try and help students be able to come to school feeling safe.  I think that teachers need to form a better bond with their students. Students should be able to go to their teachers about things that they need or problems that they are having. Plan  Step 1 - Write down a list of questions that I Could ask Mrs. Poppe. Questions like what do you already have and are you wanting to make it better. Step 2 - Ask her the questions that I wrote down. We then will talk about ways to improve. Find a way to make my ideas happen. Step 3 - We will go down to the thinking room. Look at the things we already have. Make a list of things that we could add. Step 4 - I will talk to her about ways to get the kids closer to their teachers. Come up with bonding opportunities for the kids and teachers to do together. Step 5 - We will talk to the teachers. Ask them if they like the ideas. Talk about ways to make...

Residents aren’t able to see their families during this hard time because of Covid. People are not supposed to come into the nursing home to visit their families. This has been an issue since March of 2020 when Covid first became a thing and started hitting people hard. The most affected are the residents because they are stuck in their rooms and are unable to do anything. Some residents don’t want to eat or anything because they miss their families so much. It also affects the families because they can’t see their family members that are in nursing homes. This also hurts both the families and the residents because some of the rules are you can’t touch, hug, and have to stay 6 feet away from your loved one when you visit them. You will also have to wear a mask while you’re visiting them to keep the spread down.         This issue can be solved by letting the residents talk through their windows with their families or talk through the phone but get to see ...

Car pollution is a plan that could be helped with very little effort. People drive their cars to school when they could walk instead. It would be better for everyone. People would get exercise and they would also keep the air clean. My plan was to walk to school every day. I was not going to drive at all. My goal was to walk and also get Cooper and Cole to do the same. My plan worked well. Cooper, Cole, and I have walked to school every day. We have gotten exercise and have not added to any air pollution. I did not get as many people on board that I wanted to, but maybe someday other people will do the same.

My issue is loneliness in nursing homes and assisted living homes. Loneliness has always been a problem in long term facility homes because the residents there have either lost a loved one or are going to a place where there are complete strangers. During the most recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, loneliness has gotten even worse in the long term facility homes. During the pandemic, the residents could not see their loved ones or family members or leave their rooms. Before the pandemic, the residents would eat in the dining room altogether, but after the pandemic, they couldn’t even leave their rooms to talk to their new friends that they have made while living there.  My plan is to write letters and color pictures for the residents at my place of employment. I will need to approve this project by my boss before I can start anything. Then, I will have to print off all the coloring sheets. I will have to color all the sheets, and start writing the letters on them. ...

My issue was that kids sometimes struggle to get the art education they need. It is crucial for kids to have art in their lives. It helps them developmentally in many different ways. The struggle for kids though can be the fact that they are not inspired to create something. That is what I wanted to fix. My plan was to get a giant poster board and get the help from some friends. With the help of my friends, we drew a couple different doodles for the kids to color. We also left enough room for the kids to draw their own things if they felt inspired to do so. After all the drawings were done and checked over, I took the poster board to Clarksville Child Development. From there, the kids were able to create and color whatever they wanted.  Overall, the kids enjoyed it. They thought it was cool that they had giant paper to color on and create whatever they wanted. I did what my main goal was, to inspire the kids, and helped them to create what they envisioned. I am glad th...

My issue is that kids these days do not know how to be good people. I will show kids how to properly act towards people. I want the next generation to be better people than most people are now. I hope to make the society a better place in the future. I am very willing to put in the work to help other people make the world a better place. I also wanted to help kids realize how easy it is to clean up the earth. I did this to show how we can keep the earth clean. If I were to do it again, I would just try and help more kids.

Trenton D. Hogue To Whoever it Would Concern... Blog Post 4/30/2021 Overview Throughout recent history, nursing homes have been an important part of human life and aging. However, due to the pandemic, our nursing home residents, which many in our town consider family, have been alone and wanting to communicate with more people. This is an extremely recent and bad problem that needs to be addressed by a lot of people. However, there are many possible solutions to this problem. This would include: writing notes, playing games, and speaking with the residents. The latter is what I did to help combat this viral loneliness.  Papers and Summaries My Issue Paper: Link I explain that loneliness in nursing homes is bad and has been caused by both the pandemic and family members not wanting to visit their family in the nursing homes (Which may or may not have been happening due to the pandemic). I explain possible solutions to this problem. My Plan: Link I created a plan for what I wante...

For my service project I will be helping the problem of work pollution. I plan on going out into the community or country and picking up garbage and cans. I picked this topic because it seems that wherever I go, there is some sort of trash laying around all because someone was just too lazy to throw their trash away. It gets pretty annoying after a while because there have been many times that I have been out ice fishing and people have left their garbage out on the ice. Eventually that ice is going to melt and what happens to the trash, it ends up in the water. It's especially not good for the lake that it's getting into, but the people that live around the lake and those that swim or boat don’t appreciate it one bit. That's just one of the reasons it makes me want to help clean some areas up.       Something that I learned from doing this service project is that there's more trash out on gravel roads and around the area than I thought. I thought that people wo...

My issue for this project was to attend to the mental and physical needs of my residents of the nursing home that I work in . My plan was to do activities with them because some of the residents don’t get to enjoy certain things and or don’t get to see the family when they need to. I learned a lot about doing this project but the biggest thing that I learned was that there are so many ways to do different service projects. The project that I chose was to go into the nursing home and to spend time with the residents. I learned that I can make an impact in someone's life in a super simple way. I also learned that the project that I did with the residents was not only important to me but it was important to the people that I worked with.       I think the only thing that I may have done differently is picking a different topic because it was hard for me to write the presentation and not disclose too much information because of HIPPA. There are certain laws aga...

I learned that doing things the way I do them is very efficient and the best way to do things. I learned how to do many things like how to rake and how to put things into a pile and also how to light things on fire. I also learned that you need to watch the fire most of the time to make sure it doesn't spread to anything else . I learned how to rake things into a pile and how to put airflow into a fire to make it burn faster and hotter so you do not waste a lot of time burning. My results were very good because everything burned how it should have and it worked out good for everybody. I also learned that it is very effective to light fires in an open space and not in a confined space to where the fire can spread and potentially harm other people or building because that would not be good if that happened.
