Credance Lundgren's Service Project

  My issue for this project was to attend to the mental and physical needs of my residents of the nursing home that I work in . My plan was to do activities with them because some of the residents don’t get to enjoy certain things and or don’t get to see the family when they need to. I learned a lot about doing this project but the biggest thing that I learned was that there are so many ways to do different service projects. The project that I chose was to go into the nursing home and to spend time with the residents. I learned that I can make an impact in someone's life in a super simple way. I also learned that the project that I did with the residents was not only important to me but it was important to the people that I worked with.

     I think the only thing that I may have done differently is picking a different topic because it was hard for me to write the presentation and not disclose too much information because of HIPPA. There are certain laws against the things and tools that I needed to go towards the project that I was doing. I still am very happy with the topic that I decide to choose.
My results turned out very well. A lot of the stuff that I brought to work the residents enjoyed very much but it was not as much as different from what I do at work on the daily as is. They smiled and loved the conversations that we were able to share with each other. We all sang little songs, played tic tac toe, played and even learned new ways to play cards, we did puzzles I talked to them about how they were feeling and they loved to have someone just to talk to and spend time with.

     I aimed for the people that I know didn’t have as many visitors as others so I know that this really meant a lot to them. It was a very fun project and I think I will continue to do it because I enjoy it very much.
